Bluebonnet Kosher BCAAs (Branch Chain Amino Acids) Description:

Bluebonnet is proud to introduct to its line of amino acids - BCAAs Vcaps - that contain 3000 mg per serving of pure, vegetarian-sourced branded chain amino acids, L-leucine, L-isoleucine and L-valine from Ajinomoto, the world-class quality leader in the production and purity of amino acids. The BCAAs are provided in the scientifically relevant 4:1:1 ratio for muscle performance, health and repair. Available in easy-to-swallow vegetable capsules for maxium assimilation and absorption.
Amino acids are the building blocks of protein, and proteins are the building blocks of life. The human body is constantly assembling, breaking down and using proteins on a daily basis. In fact, 10-35% of caloric energy should come from high-quality, complete protein. However, the role of amino acids, is not only limited to the synthesis of proteins, they also function as intermediates in metabolism. There are twenty "standard" amino acids used by cells in protein biosynthesis; however, only nine of these amino acids are considered essential.
Branched chain amino acids - also known as BCAAs (i.e., leucine, isoleucine and valine) are essential amino acids, meaning they are vital to protein biosynthesis and must be obtained from the diet. Fortunately, these amino acids make up a considerable amount of the protein (20-30%) consumed from daily living. BCAAs comprise about one-third of the protein found in muscle tissue, and they work synergistically to promote building, healing and repairing of muscle tissues, especially when carbohydrate storage is depleted. Plus, they are beneficial for those on a high-protein diet.
Together, leucine, isoleucine and valine, fuel the body for enhanced performance during exercise, as well as help rebuild and repair broken down muscle. This is because leucine after oxidation provides more energy (i.e., adenosine triphosphate [ATP]) molecules on a molar basis than glucose for optimal performance and muscular health/development. Isoleucine and valine, on the other hand, are broken down to form acetyl CoA, the fuel of the mitochondria (i.e., the powerhouse of the cell), and succinyl CoA, an intermediate in energy synthesis. Collectively, the nitrogen formed from the branced chain amino acids is then transformed into alanine and glutamine, allowing the muscles to be immediately fueled, especially in situations where carbohydrate storage is low. In addition, glutamine tansports excess ammonia out of the cells freely since too much free ammonia within cells it toxic.
Bluebonnet’s BCAAs Vcaps are high quality, pharmaceutical-grade amino acids in a 4:1:1 ratio to support muscular health and repair in individuals engaged in strength exercise, such as bodybuilders, weekend warriors and other individuals with active lifestyles.
