Wilting the cabbage helps infuse the flavors of the dressing into the vegetables.

Ingredients

  • 1 small head cabbage, shredded
  • 2 medium carrots, shredded
  • 1/2 sweet onion, sliced thinly
  • Dressing2 tsp poppy seeds
  • 2 tsp sugar
  • 1 lemon, juiced
  • 2 Tbs red wine vinegar
  • 2 Tbs olive oil
  • 1 pinch kosher salt, or to taste
  • 1/4 tsp dry mustard

Directions

  • Prepare vegetables.
  • In a stainless steel mixing bowl, combine all dressing ingredients and whisk well. Add vegetables.
  • Place stainless steel bowl over low heat and toss slaw until it is just barely wilted. Refrigerate until ready to serve.
